The current state and future outlook for development of sheep breeding in Ukraine

Our research aimed to analyse the current state of sheep industry in Ukraine, highlight geographical location genetic resources, describe breeding work, and form proposals for development this branch future. The date from State register farms 2005-2019 statistical reporting were used analysis. It is shown that Ukraine has good natural climatic preconditions, as well customer demands industry. In addition domestic market, it necessary look opportunities enter foreign markets. Over last 15 years, undergone significant changes: ownership changed, number livestock decreased breed composition changed. At present time, there are 0.7 million 26.7 thousand registered like animals belonging 10 breeds.
